Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Hazwan Alif Dato' Abdul Rahman
Hazwan Alif Abdul Rahman is CEO of CMC Group, a system technology solutions provider in public infrastructure, info-communication and power and energy industries. CMC has successfully completed various railway projects including but not limited to KTM Double Track Rawang-Ipoh’s Communications System and LRT Kelana Jaya and Ampang Line Extension
Project’s System Works. CMC is currently delivering the LRT3 Bandar Utama – Johan Setia’s Power Supply & Distribution System and Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Line 1’s Communications System.
Hazwan has spearheaded various human capital development initiatives in the Malaysian railway industry. CMC was the first industry partner to TERAJU for the Yayasan Peneraju Railway Graduate Training Programme which has successfully produced signalling engineers ready to work in the industry. Hazwan is a founding member of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) Malaysian Section and he now serves as the Honorary Treasurer and Committee Member of the Board.
CMC is a founding member of Malaysian Rail Consortium (MARIC). Hazwan actively supports the consolidation of Malaysian railway players through MARIC and actively champions Malaysian railway capabilities in overseas market. CMC is a recipient of the MATRADE Export Award 2018 which testifies CMC’s commitment towards exporting Malaysian railway capabilities in the overseas market.
Hazwan joined CMC as the Head of Strategic Development and focused on business strategy development and execution. He was also responsible for identifying opportunities for the Group’s overseas expansions. Today, CMC operates namely in Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Hazwan played a key role in the successful listing of CMC Infocomm Limited (now CMC Group’s related company) on the Singapore Exchange and served as its Executive Director between March 2015 and October 2016.
Hazwan is a Chartered Accountant by profession and began his career with KPMG in London, UK and then with EY in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he served a portfolio of clients including Islamic and conventional banks, asset management firms and unit trust funds. Hazwan graduated with a BSc (Hons) Economics degree from The University of Warwick, UK. He is an Associate of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), an Affiliate Member of The Institution of Railway Signal Engineers.
Director, Corporate Affairs
Nazatul Najla Dato' Abdul Rahman
Nazatul Najla Dato' Hj Abdul Rahman graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Retail Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland. She also holds a Diploma in Fashion & Retail Design from LimKokWing University, Malaysia.
She has extensive experience in the field of corporate management. She is the Director of Corporate Affairs at CMC Engineering Sdn Bhd, who directly manages the corporate planning departments, responsible for providing recommendations and providing strategic planning, marketing and branding including managing all aspects of employee relations and development.
Before holding the position of Director of Corporate Affairs at CMC, she was the Head of the Department in the Business Technology Division. She has served as a Talent Management Assistant at Media Prima Bhd.
She also holds positions on the Board of Directors at CMC Group and Women In Rail Malaysia Berhad.
General Manager, Operations
Ismail Ali
Ismail Ali is CMC Engineering’s General Manager, Operation Departments since January 2018. He has been with CMC Engineering (CMCE) since November 2013 where he started as Project Manager and subsequently held the position of Head of Signalling, undertaking CMCE works for both Prasarana Kelana Jaya Line and Ampang Line Signalling projects under sub-contract to Thales Malaysia.
He has also taken up assignments in CMCE overseas activities via CMC Saudi Arabia (presales role), CMC Japan & CMC Vietnam (presales support and post-sales leader roles). He is currently actively managing CMCE Telecom Subsystems rail project for HCMCL1 Vietnam under sub-contract to Hitachi Kokusei Electric Japan.
Prior to joining CMCE, he started his career with Alcatel and then Alcatel-Lucent holding various technical, project management and leadership roles in various capacities during his 18-year tenure at the company.
He holds a post-graduate Degree in Systems Control from Universite de Technologie de Compiegne, Compiegne, France and, a Masters & a Bachelors degrees in Informatics from Universite de Picardie Jules Verne, Amiens, France.
Finance Manager
Isa Zainal
Mohammed Isa is CMC Engineering’s Finance Manager since April 2022. He has been with CMC Engineering (CMCE) since July 2021 when he started as an Accountant and subsequently held the position of Finance Manager, undertaking the role of managing CMCE’s Finance Department, aligning the department to CMCE’s operational objectives while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
As the Finance Manager, he is taking charge of improving timely management reporting to various stakeholders of the company while making certain that the information reported is accurate and complete. He is also actively supporting the operation department with financial modelling and analytics of the project’s recoverability and feasibility. Other than the supervision of the Finance Department, he has also been participating in various consultation work for the client.
Before joining CMCE, he started his career with Ernst and Young (EY) as an auditor in the Assurance Department, specializing in auditing Insurance and Takaful companies within Malaysia.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and are actively pursuing completing his professional certifications under ACCA.

Hilmi Shukri Junit
Hilmi has more than 10 years’ of experience in maintaining and expanding corporate relationships with strategically important large customers namely in the infrastructure industry. Hilmi represents the entire range of CMC products and services to assigned customers from public and private sectors while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company.
Hilmi joined CMC Group in 2014. He studied urban and regional planning and started his career journey with architects and urban design firms.

Solar Energy
Justin Goonting
Justin Goonting graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Northumbria (UK) in mid-2010. In late 2010 he joined a Consultancy firm as an Electrical Power Engineer where he specialized in power generation as well as railway infrastructure and systems planning & design with several power plant and railway projects delivered.
He is currently the Head of Power & Energy at CMC Engineering Sdn Bhd with over 13 years in consulting, project management, project engineering and project delivery (EPCC) locally as well as overseas. He has successfully managed several large-scale power plant and railway projects including Kelana Jaya Line LRT Extension, LRT3 Power Supply & Distribution System (PS&DS) Works Package, Large Scale Solar 50MW Power Plant, Combined Cycle Power Plant around Malaysia and Bangladesh and Jakarta LRT to name a few.
His current activities emphasise Project Management and Design Engineering in Railway/Transit System Works as well as the Power & Renewable Energy sector where he is in charge of the business and project implementations. He is currently also the Project Director for two ongoing renewable power plant projects.

Technology & Innovation
Mohamad Azhar Saharudin
Mohamad Azhar is Head of Technology & Innovation since April 2022. He has been with CMC Engineering (CMCE) since August 2012 where he started as System Development Manager and Project Manager since August 2016.
As the Head of Technology & Innovation, he oversees the people, processes, and technologies within the company organization to ensure they deliver outcomes that support the goals of the business. He is also actively supporting the operation department with managing IT project delivery and technical advisory.
Prior to joining CMCE, he started his career with AIG Global Services as a Service Delivery Manager for Chartis Malaysia Berhad, specializing in the system delivery for financial conciliation of Insurance and Takaful within Malaysia.
Head, Project Control & Commercial
Muhammad Hafiz Dahalan
Muhammad Hafiz Dahalan is CMC Engineering’s Head of Project Control & Commercial since January 2018. He has been with CMC Engineering (CMCE) since November April 2014 where he started as Lead Contract & Commercial and subsequently held the position of Head of Project Control & Commercial, undertaking scope for system works for Kelana Jaya (KLJ) Line Extension Project for mainly signalling, SCADA and 15 subsystems of telecommunications.
On top of that, he has also taken up assignments in CMCE overseas activities under the Provision of Design, Procurement, Installation and Testing & Commissioning of the Telecommunication System for the Hassi Messaoud Upside North Project.
He is also currently active in presales activities such as responding to the Tenders, Proposals and developing sales for company business.
Prior to joining CMCE, he started his career by managing the various EPCC projects oil and gas industry, a developer for building construction, and Infraworks holding various, project management and leadership roles in various capacities during his 17-year tenure in the industry.
He holds a post-graduate Degree in Quantity Surveying from the University Technology Malaysia & Diploma in Quantity Surveying from University Technology Mara.
QAQC Senior Manager
Ismail Isa
Ismail Mohd Isa is CMC Engineering’s QAQC Sr. Manager. He’s been with CMC Engineering since the 4th. May 2014 as SHEQ Manager and collaborate with Kelana Jaya Line Extension Project (LRT 2) as QAQC Manager.
Act as Management Representative, responsible for ensuring the Quality Management System and Processes have been implemented, maintained, monitored aligned with Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plan, and its Objectives & Targets. Undertaking Quality Assurance & Quality Control, Internally to manage the certification in hand (Quality Management System of ISO 9001:2015) and it's Operational & Maintenance
While, externally, he is to assist and to ensure requirements on ISO legislation, Stakeholder and external party need & expectation on the project-based. His key performance indicator is acting as a single point of contact with the Project Director regards to overseeing & discussing all assurance, governances and SHEQ Policy. At the same time, to monitor closely client satisfaction, compliance with relevant legislation and where appropriate meet third-party certification requirements against relevant standards.
Having 34 years of experience in Quality Assurance & Control, where 24 years in the manufacturing process which was 65% of which in Japanese Electrical Manufacturing Factory/Process. Mandated as System Auditor / Lead Auditor for certification of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
He’s actively performed as Committee Member for Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) certification & requirements and Comply & Competent person on SHE requirements on Basic Occupational, First Aid, CPR & AED and Basic Occupational Fire Fighting as a Team Leader.
He participates in various training regards to SHEQ requirements including Project Management training.
He graduated from the University Technology Mara (UiTM) with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Certificate in Electronic Engineering
HR Specialist
Nur Hidayah Mohd Yatim
Nur Hidayah is the Manager at the CEO's office of CMC Engineering since Jun 2016. She has been with CMC Engineering (CMCE) since July 2008.
Currently, she is responsible in managing and representing the CEO’s office department for the daily business of the organization.
She is in charge of company licensing & registration or any related in alignment with CMCE’s business objectives. She is also attached to Talent Management & Development department managing the payroll related matters, and actively providing support for ISO documentations and training requirement.
Previously, she was the Business Development, Senior Executive where she was involved in bid preparation and coordination of the tender proposal, inclusive of technical and commercial proposals. This includes supporting the teaming up and worked alongside the Konsortium CMC-Colas-Uniway (KCCU) for Kelana Jaya LRT Line Extension (KLJ) Project.
Prior to joining CMCE, she was with Ecofuture Berhad as an Executive in Human Resource Department.
She holds Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry from MARA University of Technology (UiTM).
